Books cleanup and financial organization, without the lecture.

If the books are behind, the reconciliations are stale, or nobody trusts the P&L, that is a solvable problem. We come in, clean it up, and leave you with records you can run the business on.

Outcomes

What changes inside your business.

Books you can trust

Reconciled accounts and corrected history, so the statements match what actually happened in the business.

A close that happens on time

A repeatable monthly close with an owner, a checklist, and a due date instead of a scramble.

Lender and buyer ready

Records organized the way a bank, a CPA, or an acquirer expects to see them, before they ask.

Clean tax handoff

Your tax preparer gets a tidy trial balance instead of a shoebox, which usually saves fees and surprises.

What it is

Getting the financial house in order.

Most owners we meet did not neglect the books on purpose. The business grew, the bookkeeper left, the software changed, and the accounting drifted behind the operation. It happens constantly, and it is fixable.

We rebuild from the source: reconcile the accounts, correct the chart of accounts, clean up how revenue and cost are recorded, sort out payroll and owner activity, and bring prior periods back into line.

When it is done, you have a defensible set of financials, a close that happens on a schedule, and a starting point for everything else: lending, planning, valuation, or a sale.

Typical deliverables

What you can expect.

  • Full account and bank reconciliation catch-up
  • Chart of accounts rebuild and mapping
  • Prior period corrections and adjusting entries
  • Revenue, COGS, and payroll classification cleanup
  • Owner and related party activity untangled
  • Documented monthly close process and calendar
Fit profile

Best suited for operators who:

  • Know the books are behind and have been putting off the conversation
  • Do not trust the numbers coming out of the accounting system
  • Lost a bookkeeper or controller and inherited the mess
  • Need clean financials for a lender, a buyer, or a tax filing
Questions

Frequently asked.

How far behind is too far behind?
We have picked up engagements several years behind. The work scales with the backlog, but there is no point where it becomes unsalvageable. No judgment either, this is a common situation.
Do you replace my bookkeeper?
Usually not. We clean up the history and set the structure, then hand a clear process back to your bookkeeper or team. Where there is a gap, we help you fill it.
How long does a cleanup take?
Most run four to twelve weeks depending on how many periods, entities, and accounts are involved. We scope it after a short review of your file.
